It’s Finally Here!

May 15, 2018 by Disney Cruise Mom 2 Comments

You guys, it’s finally here!  We leave today for our cruise! You can read all about our specific travel plans here.  Right now, I need to be doing all of the last-minute packing and getting ready to go to the airport in 3 hours, but I really wanted to give you a quick update so I’m typing as fast as I can.

First, I really wanted to write a blog post about packing for this cruise, but this last week has been crazy and I didn’t have time.  So, I will talk about what we packed in my trip report after we return and let you know what worked and what didn’t.  But, I did take some pictures of my packing progress.

Before:

Leaving for Alaska

I did SO much laundry to prepare for this trip:

And after:

Also, did you know that you can go to disneygiftcard.com and combine Disney gift cards so that you don’t have to carry around so many?  I did that this week as well:

Most importantly, I want to remind you all that because I will have cell service in all of our ports, I am going to try to post lots of photos and videos to Facebook and Instagram during our trip, so be sure to follow me on both of those.  I am even going to try to join the 21st century and use Instagram stories for the first time!  On Facebook I am @DisneyCruiseMom and on Instagram, @disneycruisemomblog.

Okay, off to finish packing now!

Really enjoy yourselves!!! I envy you going in May we gotta wait until July for our cruise to Alaska on the Wonder. Look for the large raindrop sculpture at the corner of the ship dock. There is a pub/restaurant to get a burger with American credit card. If you eat a late lunch you can watch the cruise ships go out from their patio seating. Also a fantastic ice cream shop just down the way. Olympic torch on other side of building. Embrace the weather and the journey–it’s all Alaska even the long customs lines at the airport. Looking forward to your updates.

Forgot you are doing a back to back so you’ll be on the ship not watching it go out. Silly me, enjoy your short time ashore. If you have time try to go to the hotel Pan Pacific lobby (up the escalator from street level). Inside is a fountain in the shape of the Alaskan passage (walk towards the large windows) and just outside is a sun deck where you can get a great picture of the Wonder at the dock. Also great view of the port area. Enjoy!
