Custom Autograph Books

April 16, 2015 by Disney Cruise Mom 4 Comments

See how I QUICKLY and EASILY made custom Disney autograph books for my kids.

For our first Disney Cruise I brought autograph books for our girls.  I ordered some online and while they were cute and got the job done, I kept thinking about how much cuter it would be to make some personalized ones for my girls.  So, while preparing for our next cruise, I decided to play around on the Shutterfly website and I ended up with these:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here is the back:

I found all of the graphics on the internet and even though I am not that gifted in computer graphics, I was able to put them together very easily.  For the inside, I made a page spread for each character that I thought we might encounter.  On the left side I put a picture of my daughter(s) with the character at a previous meeting, and I left the right side blank for the autograph.  I also themed each page with the color/design for that specific character.  Here are some of the pages from the book:

The books were a big hit with the characters, especially the princesses.  Each princess just kept going on and on about how much they loved the books and even their handlers (mostly guys who normally wouldn’t give an autograph book a second glance) complimented them.  The non-verbal characters also acknowledged them with motions which was fun to watch.  Now we didn’t manage to get all of the autographs that I had prepared for, like Daisy:

I also prepared to meet characters that I hadn’t anticipated by including several blank pages in the back like this:

If you would like to make one similar to this, this is a 5×7 soft cover photo book by Shutterfly.  If you have made a custom autograph book before, please comment below and tell us about it.  Or, email me pictures at disneycruisemomblog@gmail.com.  I would love to see them!

That is a great idea for an autograph book! I never would have thought of doing that.

I recently came across a different idea…one where someone purchased the Disney Junior Character Encyclopedia, had it coil-bound, and then had the characters sign on their page in the book. The idea can be found here: http://littlemisssave.blog.com/2012/10/22/alternative-disney-world-autograph-book/

I was just thinking about doing this, but was wondering how well you can write on the paper of the photobooks. It looks like Cinderella signed with a regular pen, did that work well or would you recommend sharpie? Thanks.

A ball point pen worked just fine. No issues!
