Guest Trip Report: November 18, 2019 Very Merrytime on the Disney Dream – Day 4

February 12, 2020 by Disney Cruise Mom 2 Comments

This trip report was written by Douglas, who sailed a back-to-back on the Disney Dream beginning on November 18, 2019 on 2 Very Merrytime cruises from Port Canaveral. You can start the trip report from the beginning by clicking here.

Day 4:  At Sea

I woke up this day around 7:00.  Days at sea are so nice and relaxing. I think I’d rather do an all sea day cruise over one with ports but it is nice seeing other places so I’m a little torn over more sea days versus more port days.

We were going to Palo Brunch this day so I went up to the pool deck to make myself a cup of tea and to grab a few pastries for us to just have a little something in our stomachs.

By the time we were fully ready it was time to head up to Palo.  Our waiter was once again Paolo and he had saved our second bottle of the apple juice so I had that with my brunch.

After placing our orders we headed to the buffet in the back:

I was a bit impressed with the spread and it was so hard to pick what to eat but I managed:

My dad has a strawberry allergy and since most of the desserts involve strawberry somewhere, Paolo had the chef make some strawberry-less desserts for him. The first one here is the only one without anything strawberry in it so it arrived first:

Paolo managed to get the Grape Gorgonzola pizza made for us. It was very interesting to taste and can see why people like it:

Here’s the rest of the desserts for my dad:

The Chicken Parmigiana (excellent):

Eggplant Rollatini:

My pick of desserts. I don’t recommend eating the leaf with the jello and berries.

Finishing up the last of the apple juice:

I had told Paulo at some point I was doing this trip report and he wanted to take a selfie:

He also got me another birthday plate:

We got back to the room and the tip envelopes were waiting for us. Yes, it was the end of this cruise but  we were doing the following cruise also so it wasn’t hard to see these.

After getting into casual clothes we went to Pub 687 for some Ultimate Disney Trivia. We managed to get a score of 8/25 which was, I think, the highest score.  This is a picture of a medal to commemorate the ship being completed and the actual one is hidden somewhere on the ship so this is just a replica.

We went to bingo at 4:30 but once again I didn’t win.

I’m not really sure what else we did this day before going to dinner.  Dinner tonight was at Royal Palace, my favorite of the three restaurants.

It might not be easy to see but there’s glass slippers in the chandelier:

The cotton candy milkshake. I saw this mentioned in one of Diana’s trip reports so I had to taste it. It was pretty good.

Iced Lobster and Jumbo Shrimp (good):

I completely forgot to take a picture of my salad, the Red Wine Bosc Pear Salad (excellent).

My dad got a baked potato! Just kidding, the wrong thing came out so our team went to get the correct item for him so he munched on this in the meantime.

At some point during dinner I realized that the couple at the table next to us were Robb & Elissa from Theme Park Review. It was so neat. No pictures of them since I didn’t want to be rude by taking it without permission and they were busy taking pictures of their own so I didn’t want to bother them with a picture for the trip report. I had also seen them earlier that morning when I went to make some tea but I thought my mind was playing tricks on me but apparently it wasn’t.

The towel animal for tonight:

There was also this Minnie gift hanging on our door:

And our congratulations card for doing a back to back:

Because there was still a few hours to enjoy, we went up to the pool and watched The Princess and the Frog before we headed off to bed.

They never fail to feed you well on a cruise, do they? I would love to try a cotton candy milkshake myself!

We had our server the year before and went a bit overboard with having us try stuff LOL! I would’ve had one every night if I wanted to but I had other drinks I liked as well.
