Disney Magic Room 8516

March 23, 2022 by Disney Cruise Mom Leave a Comment

This is Disney Magic stateroom 8516.  This is a category 01B concierge 2 bedroom suite with verandah. It is on Deck 8 forward on the starboard side of the ship and sleeps 7 people. Rachel and her family stayed in this room in March 2022 and she was kind enough to share the following review with us:

This was our first time to stay in a 2 bedroom suite. On our other cruises on the classic ships (Magic & Wonder), we have always stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. But we fell in love with this stateroom and will definitely look to book it on future cruises!

This stateroom is on the starboard side of the ship right next to the forward elevators. We found these elevators to be the least busy during our cruise (compared to midship and aft) so we used them often. We did sometimes hear the crew moving around some things on deck 9 above us in the mornings, but it was not that bad.

Immediately when you walk in there is a hallway. The first door on the right is the secondary bedroom. The first door on the left is a closet (which we never used), and the second door on the left is the half bathroom.

This photo is the view looking back at the stateroom door:

The secondary bedroom has two twin size beds. We only have two children, so that’s all the beds that were made out for us, but there is another one that pulls down from the ceiling for a total of three beds in that room.

On the other side of the room is a TV and a walk-in closet. They had two robes hanging in this closet and my youngest did use his frequently!

There is an ensuite full bath split into two rooms. Sink and then the toilet/bath/shower. In all of our bathrooms they had pumps with the H2O products in them including hand soap at the sinks, which was great. They also put out the Elemis travel-size products on the counter in each bathroom.

Continuing down the hall, the half bath has a toilet and sink.

The end of the hallway opens up into the main living and dining areas.

The sofa does make out into a bed. I loved how they kept this room open, but there was plenty of seating.

The dining table seats 6. And somehow I missed taking a photo of the wall opposite the dining and living areas. There was a TV on the living room side and a bar sink with storage (including under cabinet refrigerator) on the dining room side.

The main bedroom had verandah access on the left side and the bathroom and closet were to the right.

The TV wall in this bedroom had lots of shelves and cabinet storage. Actually, the whole stateroom had TONS of storage. No matter how much you bring, you will be able to find a place for it. Because of COVID (I am assuming that’s the reason) all the little shelves and niches were bare except for the few things that were glued down.

The first space is the vanity. Again, with lots of drawers and shelves for storage.

The photo above shows the whole row of rooms making up the closet and bathroom.

Directly opposite from the vanity area is the closet. There is a safe (although it sticks out kind of awkwardly). There are several deep drawers and shelves. Plenty of hangers and of course, the robes and slippers.

The next room in the row is the sink and bath area. There are double sinks and plenty of drawers.

The last room is the toilet and shower area. While the shower was roomy enough, I do wish it had a glass enclosure like the Royal Suite. It was fine, but the water did get onto the floor each time someone showered no matter how careful we were. There are storage shelves behind the door on the right as well as in the shower itself – plenty of room for products.

Finally, there is a long verandah. There are three access points to the verandah – one in the main bedroom, one near the dining table, and one in the living area. There were four chairs and two tables out there.
